Revd Stephen Dinsmore

Stephen’s passion is to see God’s people prepared and repaired for their works of service, through encounter with the Spirit.

Converted in 1977 and ordained in 1985, Stephen ministered in parishes in Hull, County Durham, North London, Plymouth, and Essex. In the Diocese of Chelmsford, he was delighted to be locating, overseeing and encouraging the emerging Fresh Expressions of Church germinated by the Spirit across the fertile, entrepreneurial ground of Essex and East London. He was deeply encouraged that the Church of England so rapidly got in step with the Missio Dei.

In 2007 Stephen was called to lead SOMA, to fulfil his passion to encourage, equip and empower church leaders through encounter with the Spirit, internationally across East Africa and parts of the Indian subcontinent. He retired from SOMA in 2021.

Stephen lives and worships in rural South Somerset, is married to Janet, has three adult children and six grandchildren. He enjoys time with family, appreciating creation and being on the water.
